Three men arrested near Portlaoise on September 29th in connection with transporting allegedly stolen goods are to appear in court for the second time, in Portlaoise tomorrow.
The men were stopped by Garda in the early hours of September 29th and found to have over €17,000 worth of equipment in a van.
It is alleged that the equipment was stolen from a premises in Golden earlier that night.
The three men have addresses in Athy and Clondalkin.
The stolen items include a trailer carrying a power washer, a con saw, a quad bike and a skilsaw.
In addition, the Garda found gloves and a torch in the van. The men have been charged with trespass and possession of stolen property.
All three have been remanded in custody until tomorrow’s court appearance.
The arrests are part of Operation Thor, launched in November 2015.
This Garda operation is designed to tackle the anticipated increase in the number of burglaries and associated criminal activity that usually occur in winter months by undertaking targeted enforcement and preventative activity.
