All events will go ahead as normal today in The Tipperary Excel Centre following a cancellation of cinema activities yesterday.
There was an electrical fault yesterday when a bulb overhead the stage, within the gantry, exploded – emitting smoke and flames.
The incident lasted just a few seconds but as a precaution the building was evacuated and emergency services notified.
The electricals were checked by the ESB and by the centres own electrician and no other issues were identified.
Mary Leahy, General Manager, of the Tipperary Excel Centre paid tribute to all staff in the building for the swift and efficient evacuation of the premises.
Ms Leahy says the culture night events today, which are free, are proving very popular.
