People Encouraged To Have Their Say On Tipp Arts Strategy

A series of meetings and online surveys for the public and practitioners are to be used to develop an Tipperary Arts Strategy 2023-2027

There are two surveys, one for the public or a volunteer in the sector and one for those working professionally – the survey links are available on the council website.

Public Meetings (for people whose interest in the arts is as an audience member or participant or work in a voluntary or non-professional capacity) will be held at three locations –
Wednesday 14 September: 7 – 8:30pm Horse & Jockey Hotel, Thurles
Monday 19 September: 7 – 8:30pm Talbot Hotel, Clonmel

While Meetings for the Arts Sector (Artists and Arts Professionals) are planned for
Tuesday 13 September: 2 – 3:30pm Tipperary County Council Offices, Carrick on Suir
Wednesday 14 September: 11:30am – 1pm Tipperary County Council Offices, Tipperary town
Wednesday 14 September: 4 – 5:30pm Horse & Jockey Hotel, Thurles
Monday 19 September: 4 – 5:30pm Talbot Hotel, Clonmel

The sector saw a major development yesterday when 2000 successful applicants were informed that they had qualified for a Pilot Basic Income Scheme for Artists. Each participant will now be paid €325 per week for 3 years to enable them to focus on their work while having a stable income source.
