An Independent TD is calling for dedicated clinics to be set up to deal with patients with Long-COVID-19.
Denis Naughten TD for Roscommon-Galway published data showing that over 10,500 people in the county are impacted by the condition.
The symptoms experienced by people including fatigue and brain fog, which are experienced at least three months after the initial infection for significant periods of time in some cases over 2 years.
Deputy Naughten TD says the Independent Regional Technical Group which includes Tipperary’s Michael Lowry will raise the matter with the Finance Minister ahead of the Budget next month.
He believes the current situation is causing waiting lists to increase and is therefore clogging up local health services.
