Killaloe Coast Guard unit were tasked to assist a 40 ft cruiser aground on Lough Derg yesterday evening.
The vessel with three person on board got struck at the entrance to the Scariff River and had experienced engine difficulty as a result of the incident.
A crew member was transferred to the causality vessel and carried out an assessment to insure it was not damaged.
The vessel was taken on tow out to deep water and then escorted into Mounthshannon Harbour where a shore team assisted with the safe mooring of the vessel.
The unit was stood down after two hours and returned to base.
This is the 33rd incident the Killaloe Coast Guard attend so far this year.
