Tipperary Library service was allocated €19,100 today as part of a national allocation of €700,000.
The funds can be used for a variety of purposes such as –
· Funding to provide for range of equipment, classes and activities in libraries across the country
· Focus on supporting children, the elderly, people with disabilities and the marginalised and disadvantaged communities
· Projects also designed to reach out to Ukrainian families
The funds are provided under the Dormant Accounts Action Plan and are intended to support libraries to be a central part of the life of every community.
Tipperary County Council will contribute an additional €2,121.74 to the project.
Minister Heather Humphreys reminded people that the Library is free to use and offers a wide range of services.
