A Cork man is to travel to all 32 counties between now and September 2nd using a motorbike that was restored as a gift for his son’s 18th birthday.
Bunny O’Riordan will be travelling through county Tipperary today (Thursday) and the trip is intended to raise awareness of the need for supports for those living with suicide.
Bunny O’Riordan lost his son, Cian, to suicide in 2009 and after many years recovering himself is now riding his son’s motorbike to raise awareness and funds for the Midleton Hub.
The convoy supporting Bunny will leave Limerick on Thursday and travel via Tipperary Town, Cashel, Thurles and Borrisoleigh to Nenagh.
The group will be leaving from Our Lady of Lourdes Community Centre, Limerick, V94 KC9V at approximately 11am and should arrive in Tipperary town at approximately noon.
The final stop in Nenagh is at the Silver Arch Resource Centre.
The trip is being filmed and will be used in a documentary about Suicide.
The group hopes to learn from communities along the route about services and supports available for those #Living with Suicide.
The trip will see a Teddy Bear being left in each county and the trip is known as the #CuddleRun.
