Former Waterford manager Liam Cahill is to become the new Tipperary Senior Hurling manager.
The Tipperary GAA management committee met this evening and agreed to appoint Mr Cahill for a three year term.
The Ballingarry man first became involved in inter-county management in 2007 as a Tipperary minor hurling selector.
He later went on manage the Tipperary minor team between 2014 to 2017, the under 21 Tipp team in 2018 and winning that the All Ireland that year.
Liam says it’s a great honour to me, my family and my club to become manager of Tipperary.
Mr Cahill says he looks forward to the challenges that lay ahead and he will appoint his back room team in the coming weeks.
Its also been confirmed that Michael Beavens will be a coach he has worked with Liam in previous teams.
