The government has allocated sums of between €5,000 and €6,000 to 119 Agricultural shows taking place this summer.
In total, €700,000 is being provided to support the return of the shows over the coming months.
The government also noted the huge voluntary effort involved in delivering the shows.
The Irish Shows Association has also been allocated €313,000 to support the roll out of a National Shows Management software system for use by agricultural and rural shows nationwide.
This funding was approved by the Leader programmes in Monaghan, Mayo, Cork West and Galway East as part of the LEADER programme Co-operation Measure.
Clonmel, Nenagh Show due on August 1st and Bansha Show due on August 24th were successful applicants for the funding in County Tipperary as were Newcastlewest, Cappamore Show set for August 20th and Limerick Show due on August 28th in county Limerick.
