To mark the centenary of An Garda Síochána, Cahir Garda District will be hosting a local event on Sunday the 10th of July 2022.
The event will feature the Garda band performing between 1 and 2pm in Castle Street Car Park.
At 2pm the Garda band and ceremonial unit will lead a parade of Garda Members, Garda Staff and Retired Garda Members over the bridge to the Former Garda Station, Castle Street now occupied by the Lava Rock Restaurant.
A plaque will be unveiled and then a short series of speeches will be made in an area to the rear of the building.
There will be a display of Garda Memorabilia and the Garda community Engagement Stand will be part of the event with refreshments served at 3pm.
