The ESB has issued a warning in respect of the dangers of swimming in any ESB reservoir.
The State energy company says such areas are not appropriate for swimming because of deep and fast flowing waters, changing water levels and uneven ground.
The company say that their reservoirs in Wicklow, Kildare, Cork, Clare and Donegal in addition to theArdnacrusha headrace pose serious consequences to those that might be tempted to use them as a period of warm weather is expected in the coming days.
The public are advised to use established bathing areas especially those supervised by life guards.
