A boil before use notice issued for the Galtee Public water supply has been lifted today.
The notice was issued on June 25th and affected over 15,000 in the communities of Emly, Lattin, Ballinard, Cullen, Ballywire, Kilross, Limerick Junction, Monard, Lisvarnane, Rosadrehid, Bansha, Tankerstown, Kilfeacle, Golden, Cashel, Rosegreen, New Inn and surrounding areas.
Residents in these areas can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth. The decision to lift the boil before use notice has been approved by the Health Service Executive.
The notice was originally issued as a precaution due to elevated turbidity in the water supply which impacted the disinfection process.

The Irish Water Customer Contact Centre (1800 278 278) is available to answer customer queries.
