The Pride of Tipperary Festival has announced that this year’s event will not take place.
The Committee say that a lack of volunteers to help organise the event is the main reason for the cancellation for 2022.
Since 1964 the Pride of Tipperary festival has been a huge part of the Tipperary town’s summer festival, even some years where no festival was held the Pride of Tipperary continued, it is the second longest running event of its kind in Ireland, only surpassed by the Rose of Tralee.
The existing committee have expressed regret that the event will not take place but intend to review the format and return in 2023.
The committee have thanked have thanked sponsors, contestants, past committee members and the people of Tipperary town and its surrounds for all their encouragement, help, and support throughout the years.
