Deputy Michael Lowry has given his full support to Commercial Bus Operators from Tipperary and across the country in their call to be included in the 20% Fare Reduction Scheme.
The Coach Tourism and Transport Council of Ireland presented their Economic Report on the impact of the Government decision to implement a 20% fare reduction scheme, but to exclude commercial bus operators from the scheme.
The Thurles based TD called for fairness for coach operators and for their passengers.
The Report also highlights the risk to the existing rural transport network if commercial operators are not supported.
The findings of Report by the Coach Tourism and Transport Council of Ireland say that it is economically feasible to include CBOs in the 20% fare reduction scheme and the group are now asking the Transport Minister to act accordingly.
