Tipperary County Council has a new Cathaoirleach today as Cllr Roger Kennedy from Cashel has been elected Cathaoirleach.
He was proposed by fellow FF councillor Siobhan Ambrose and seconded by FG councillor Phil Bugler and unanimously supported from the floor.
FG councillor Noel Coonan from the Thurles Templemore MD will be the Leas Cathaoirleach.
FF and FG have a voting pact and together hold 21 of the 40 seats on Tipperary County Council.
The AGM was held in Clogheen today to mark the end of local FG councillor Marie Murphy’s term in office.
The Tipperary Cahir Cashel AGM will be held on Monday next when Cllr Mary Hanna Hourigan’s term as Cathaoirleach and Micheal Anglim’s term as Leas Cathaoirleach in office are to conclude.
The final BD AGM will be that of Clonmel set for 4pm on June 30th.
