A mother from Cashel is thanking the community for their donations for her family.

A fundraiser was set up a week ago to support the Prendergast family.

Corey Prendergast suffered a Spinal Cord Injury and has been left paralysed as a result of this accident.

The 17 year old is currently a patient in the Spinal Unit in The Mater Hospital.

Organisers of the fundraiser says he will then be transferred to The National Rehabilitation Hospital to undergo further treatment.

Corey’s mother says he’s a fighter and will continue to fight for the best recovery possible on this long journey ahead of him.

She also thanked the staff in the spinal unit in the Mater hospital Dublin for all the care they are giving Corey.

All funds raised will be given to Corey and his family to support them during this difficult time while he is a patient in the Mater Hospital and The National Rehabilitation Hospital.

So far over 17,000 euro has been raised through the GoFundMe.
