Proposed SUSI Changes Will Allow Students Earn More

Proposed changes to the SUSI grant system will allow college students to earn more during the summer months without losing eligibility for their college grants. At present a third level student can earn no more than €4,500 when working, without it impacting their SUSI grant payments.

Changes are now being considered that would also assist employers to find staff. It is understood that the new earning limit might be as high as €6,500

Simon Harris, Minster for Further and Higher education has been working on the project and says an early decision on the issue is a priority.
