Garda have seized €140,000 of suspected cocaine following a search in Caherconlish last night.
Garda carried out a search on a vehicle at around 8pm, and found the estimated 2 kilos of suspected cocaine.
The drugs will now be sent for analysis.
A man in his 30s was arrested as a result and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Henry Street Garda station.
The search is part of an ongoing garda operation known as operation Tara designed to disrupt and prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale and supply of controlled drugs.
