Major road works on Fr Matthew Street and a portion of the Bansha road in Tipperary Town are to commence in September.
The work was approved in January when the councillors voted to pause part of proposed works on the N24 in the town centre due to the extensive lockdown due to the pandemic, the unsuitability of the proposed design and as a lever to get the Tipperary town by pass built as a priority.
Data gathered for the N24 road project reveals that some 700 HGVs pass through Tipperary town centre daily.
28% of the traffic to Tipperary Town is passing through and 60% has Tipperary town as it’s destination.
