The proposal for the upgrade of the N24 road between Cahir and Limerick Junction is to be published today leading to 4 days of engagement with the project team locally.
Councillors in the Tipp Cahir Cashel district will get a briefing at 9am and the details will be published on www.n24cahirlimerick.ie at 11am.
The project is being led by the Mid West Roads Design office in collaboration with TCC, TII and Arup consultants.
The proposal today is expected to involve some road construction on the route –  how extensive this will be remains to seen as to  whether it will include a full new motorway or new segments.
There will also be public transport and active travel elements and measures to reduce the demand for road travel.
There has been a strong campaign for the inclusion of a Tipperary Town By pass as a priority element in the project.
The project is funded under the NDP.
The plans and design team will be available for public view on Tuesday and Thursday from 1pm to 8pm in the Great National Ballykisteen hotel and those impacted can make an appointment to meet the design team in Ballykisteen on Wednesday and Friday by contacting the Mid West Road Desging office at 061 951000 or via the website at n24cahirlimerick.ie
