Canon Hayes Community Recreation Centre will be part of the Community Services programme.
The CHRC has been approved for funding for two staff positions – a manager and one other whole time equivalent position.
The centre is approved on the grounds that the measure will support the management and operation of the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre which provides recreation and sporting activities in Tipperary town.
The appointment is the latest in a series of managerial roles for organisations in Tipperary town designed to support the revitalisation.
To date a variety of schemes have been used to secure a Sports Hub Co-coordinator role, a Social Inclusion Programme co-ordinator and a Manager for the Tipperary Engine Digital Hub.
Nationally 6 other agencies were approved for the scheme and was announced by the Department of Rural and Community Development.
