Irish Water reports that the Boil Water before use notice for some residents in Carrick on Suir remains in place.
Testing on the raw water continues but the notice cannot be lifted until the water quality reaches a satisfactory level.
The supply involved is from a borehole that is used sporadically when water levels in Crotty’s lake is too low to meet demand.
The issue arose last week when the raw water from the borehole was found to be discoloured and as a precaution the Boil Before use notice was issued impacting over 2000 residents.
For Carrick on Suir residents there were other outages caused over the last weekend by a malfunction at the treatment plant and mains pipelines replacement works.
