Ballyporeen Community Council has won the 2021 Pride of Place award for population category 300 to 1000.
The Ballyporeen community council were nominated by Tipperary County Council for a pride of place award.
The announcement was made at the Awards ceremony in Killarney last night.
Ballyporeen representatives Mike Geary, James Hackett and Seamus Hennessy were accompanied by Margo Hayes and Pat Slattery from Tipperary County Council.
RTE’s Marty Whelan was the MC for the event. Pride of Place is an all-island competition that recognises made by local communities to create civic pride in their area.
The competition focus is about people coming together to shape, change and enjoy all that is good about their area.
IPB insurance are the main sponsors for the event.
