The EU must grant Ukraine Candidate Status before the end of June according to Senator Garret Ahearn.
The Senator shared the view after returning from Ukraine where he visited Kyiv, Bucha and Boridanka.
The Cahir based Senator says the people of Ukraine need this reassurance from Europe as they continue to fight Russian Invaders.
The Senator has urged western governments to provide all possible aid to Ukraine and to ensure nations do not use loopholes to avoid implementing sanctions against Russia.
He also urged sanctions on Russian Media companies to stop the disinformation used by Russian to maintain public support for the actions of President Putin.
