Enhancement Scheme Opens For Some Co. Tipp Towns

646

Property owners in designated areas of Thurles, Templemore and Roscrea are eligible to apply for funding for works to improve the appearance of their buildings.

The MD Enhancement Scheme is open for applications until May 20th.

Tipperary County Council is seeking to improve the streetscape and public realm of the 3 towns by supporting owners of properties to improve and enhance their properties and public areas.

Residential and Commercial properties in the designated areas covered by the scheme are eligible for funding.

Maximum Grant is 50% of the approved cost of the works subject to a maximum of €500.00.

Priority will be given to applications for properties that are in need of works in order to prevent them from becoming and or continuing to be derelict.

The Thurles scheme does not include Liberty Square – as property owners in the Square can benefit from a special Liberty Square Scheme provided following the recent Enhancement works completed by the Council.

Commercial and Residential properties in Liberty Square have been invited to return (as soon as possible) an Expression of Interest form to establish the level of interest in the Scheme.

A colour consultant will advise on the scheme to optimise the beneficial impact.

The amount of grant funding payable under this scheme to each business will be determined by the number of expressions of interest received from properties.

Qualifying actions include painting, decluttering and repair of shopfronts and the

replacement of signage with traditional wooden fascia with wooden/hand painted lettering OR contemporary design.
