Tipperary Town Revitalisation Task force have shared details of a two part project to be completed this year with Funding of €15,900, under the Community Heritage Grant Scheme operated by The Heritage Council.
The Task Force’s Heritage Group are teaming up with the Museum of Childhood Ireland to deliver a community heritage project.
The project aims to promote the importance of the towns Architectural Conservation Area by exploring the town’s rich industrial heritage through the eyes of its young people.
Particular focus will be on the story of the Glove Factory, preserving its historical footprint while building awareness of the value of a well-researched Architectural area.
A digital record of the Glove Factory is to be made and it is hoped that both projects will be at least partially completed by Heritage week in August.
