Tipperary County council is offering ratepayers a discount of 5% on their rates bill for early payment this year.
Those who pay using check or cash by July 31st will receive the discount.
Those paying by direct debit have until September to avail of the discount.
The scheme is open to those with a rates bill up to €12,000. 1346 customers availed of the discount last year achieving total reduction in their rates of €92,304.
There was an 83% collection rate for commercial rates in Tipperary for 2021 according to details revealed at a meeting of Tipperary county council.
The figure for Housing Loans administered by the council is 94% while the collect rate for rents on social housing is 97%.
The Council will receive €775,000 from Central government in respect of the final Rates Waiver related to Covid restrictions.
This sum is for the first quarter of 2022 and is the final payment due to the council under the scheme.
