A Tipperary TD is calling for “double-jobbing” and the “scandalous waste of money” to end following news that the Department of Health will pay Dr Tony Holohan salary in his new Trinity professor role.
Mattie McGrath claimed the Taoiseach was “taking the public for right patsies” and was “it not an evidence of a cozy cartel of a two or third tier system”.
The Taoiseach says he wasn’t t aware of the arrangement between the Department of Health and Trinity College.
Michael Martin stated he was not involved in any decisions relating to the creation of new post.
The Fianna Fail leader criticised the Newcastle based TD for personalising the issue between him and the Chief Medical Officier.
Mr Martin called on the Tipp deputy to withdraw those remarks as he had “no hand, act or part” in creating the role at the Dublin college.
