A truck from Aidan Doherty Transport has arrived in Poland with items for Ukrainians fleeing their home country this afternoon.
Last Friday, Pat Higgins was preparing for the long journey to Poland via Wales, England, Holland and Germany.
Pat was accompanied by James Doherty ( son of Aidan and Breda ) who drove to Berlin in Germany and as James flew back to Ireland this morning.
Violet Zio flew out to Poland and arranged everything ahead of the arrival of the consignment from Tipperary town.
Many locals donated goods such as food and clothes in Tipperary town including Anna from the Dry Cleaners on the Bansha road in the town.
On arrival in Poland this afternoon, Violet had a team of helpers on site to unload the container.
Shreelawn Oil Tipperary sponsored the diesel for the return journey and the Stenna Line Ferry sponsored the boat return trip across the Irish Sea.
