Over 200 pilgrams are currently walking from Cashel to Cahir using St. Declan’s Way.
The route involves leaving the Rock of Cashel and heading out the old road via Carron, Loughkent (break) Chamberlainstown, Mortlestown, Priests Road ,Cashel Road and back to the Parochial Hall in Cahir for refreshments.
St Declans way is now a recognised Camino and tomorrow morning registration is in Goatenbridge and pilgrims will get the bus to Cahir and walk back.
Cahir councillor Andy Moloney says this Camino will be a huge benefit to the town in the years ahead as people want to stay locally and eat and drink and enjoy the hospitality along the route.
Cllr Moloney also thanked all the stewards volunteering tomorrow and Sunday and for those who litter picked the route midweek.
