A company based in Nenagh has won the County Tipperary Enterpise Award and will now progress to the national finals.
The announcement was made as part of Enterprise Week.
The award and a prize of €5000 was presented to Rory Kinnane of Premier Fire Products by Tipperary County Council CEO Joe MacGrath.
Premier Fire Products was established in 2014 currently employs 4 people.
The company trades on the website waxies.ie and through hardware and agri stores.
There are two products under the Waxie brand – BBQ firelighters and the Eco Friendly Fire Lighter.
Both products are made from recycled wax and saw dust.
The unique feature of the product is that they are environmentally friendly to use, works first time every time, has no odour or smell and also has a low carbon footprint.
