Members of the community in Thurles are asked to consider sponsoring a memorial bench in memory of an event or of individuals who have made a significant contribution to local heritage, culture and/or community development.
Memorials requested by families within the community dedicated to departed family members or friends will also be allowed.
Possible locations for commemorative benches in Thurles are a park, local cemetery, street or public space (subject to the availability of suitable locations).
The main condition under which the commemorative benches must fall is that the inscription on the benches is to be agreed with Thurles Municipal District in advance.
