South East Mountain Rescue Association were called out to assist walkers who were lost in the Galtees.
SEMRA received the call from An Garda Síochána in the afternoon.
The walkers took shelter at rocks beneath the cross on northern side of Galtymore and were extremely cold.
The conditions were wet and windy with low visibility.
The walkers originally ascended from Kings Yard via Knocknagalty and got disorientated.
Rescue members had located the walkers on Galtymore by 17:28 and escorted them down off the hill to a waiting SEMRA vehicle on the top of the Black Road.
The relieved walkers were transported down off the hill and dropped off safely at their vehicles.
