A visit by Prince Charles and his wife Camilla to Cashel is a most welcome development according to Martin Lynch, president of Cashel Chamber of Commerce.
Speaking earlier today on TMWR Mr Lynch says that an official announcement is yet to be made but a visit by the heir to the British throne is expected on March 24th and 25th.
The visit, which is expected to include visits to the Rock of Cashel, Bru Boru, Coolmore, Birr Castle and Cahir Castle will provide a huge amount of publicity for the town as national and internationalalnal media cover the visit.
President Lynch says that the planned relaunch of the Cashel Palace on March 1st will leave the town well positioned to benefit from the promotional work of Fáilte Ireland given the ease of access provided by Dublin, Cork and Shannon Airports.
Mr Lynch confimed that designs for the public realm in Cashel by consultants The Paul Hogarth Company will shortly be presented and put forward for full planning permission.Meanwhile plans are gathering pace for a St Patrick on The Plaza event in Cashel on march 17th beginning at 2pm.
