Lighting One of the Issues to be Raised at Clonmel Borough Meeting

The issue of lighting in Clonmel is one of the issues to be raised at tomorrow’s (Wednesday) meeting of the Clonmel Borough Council.

Councillor Michael Murphy is raising the issue of lighting and public safety in the town, among eight other motions to be considered by councillors.

In particular, Cllr Murphy says that the general public are concerned about the quality of lighting provided by the council by the western section of the Clonmel By-pass.

These lights were put into operation 12 months ago but Cllr Murphy said the lighting provided by them is poor and that many walkers and cyclists have sought improvements, particularly in the wake of events nationwide.

Cllr Murphy is now calling for the council to assess the quality of lighting delivered in the area.
