Knockavilla Community Council is urging community members to help tackle a spate of criminal incidents.
Last Wednesday night a large number of tools & a trailer were stolen from a shed in the Ballygriffen area of Golden.
This theft occurred around 9pm at a house under renovation. Early Saturday morning further garden and agricultural tools were stolen from a farm shed.
Last Saturday, between 9pm and 9.30pm a number of vehicles were set alight in a farmyard in the Upper Bishopswood area, destroying the vehicles and bales of silage.
Knockavilla council are asking anyone with information to contact the Garda, to avail of the community text alert message system and to utilise security monitoring phone equipment the council provides free of charge.
Those with sheds are asked to try to upgrade the security of the premises.
