Last night saw the launch of a major new support for well being in county Tipperary.

A directory of all available supports in the areas of Mental Health, Bereavement, Suicide, Domestic Violence, Addiction Services and Primary Care including GPs has been published via a website Light it Up Tipperary which can be found at www.light-it-up.ie

The project was led by Donnacha O’Grady and Fergal Grace. The website was formally launched last night at Christ the King by Donnacha O’Grady and John O Heney facilitated by TMWR’s own Stevie O’ Donnell. Donnacha O’Grady who has a background in mental Health and Sports has encouraged clubs across the county to help create awareness of the website – he said that hopefully clubs will post signs and notices to bring attention to the website.

John O Heney said that additions can be made to the listings and asked that people use the contact form on the website to provide updates on new services. The website is also supported by a Facebook and Instagram account – the Facebook page already has over 500 likes.

Light it Up Tipperary is also available by scanning a QR code which will bring users straight to the website. Public and private services are listed on the site which aims to make access to information easier. Visitors to the website can also enable their location which will result in services closest to them being listed first. Donnacha O’Grady said “we are trying to get people to where help can be found – we have had too many tragic events in the community.”
