Cervical rights campaigner and cancer survivor Vicky Phelan has announced that she has returned to the USA following a month long break in Ireland.

Ms Phelan shared that that she has not made as much progress as she and her doctor would have liked following several rounds of treatment on a clinical trial.

Following scan results from July 3 rd her team has decided that she will change treatment plans and enrol in a new clinical trial that is currently enrolling patients.

Ms Phelan shared that she will undergo a series of tests and scans next week and then start on the new treatment regime – it will be very similar to the previous clinical trial with treatment scheduled every two weeks and three drugs being administered.

Ms Phelan also said that it was harder to leave Ireland this time than in January and she thanked everyone for their ongoing support.
