Yesterday, the government discussed a number of new public health measures with NPHET regarding outdoor events, and the reopening of gyms, restaurants, and pubs, among other facilities in Ireland.

The reopening of cinemas in Ireland was also on the agenda.

Cinemas are set to be allowed to reopen from June 7th, the same date on which gyms, pools and leisure centres are allowed to reopen.

This is much welcome news to the Cinema industry in Ireland, who have been completely closed since Autumn 2020, and movie-goers nationwide will be excited to return to their local movie theatres to get the authentic experience on the silver screen. After a year which has seen an almost complete shutdown in movie production, it is exciting to see a plethora of finished movies ready to screen very soon, in a cinema near you!
