1195

Tipperary County Council has appointed Malachy Walsh and Partners (Engineers) and Nicholas de Jong Associates (Urban Design) to prepare the Regeneration Plan for Carrick on Suir, which is aimed primarily at delivering the following two elements:

– Design and enhancement of the Suir Blueway from Sean Healy Park to Ormond Castle

– Regeneration: Public realm design and enhancement of the town.

The council have set out a timeline for progress on a dedicated website at www.yourcarrickonsuir.ie and are now inviting the public to participate in an online survey that closes on April 7th at 4.30pm.

The overall timeline indicates that engagement with key stakeholders in the community and the online survey will be completed by early April. There will be a number of design options prepared which will be presented to the public in May. If design details are completed it is envisaged that a Part 8 Planning Process would commence in July and an application for Funding to the relevant Govt. Dept. would be submitted in September.

The council note that the timeline for construction would be dependent on the decision on the funding application.
