Minister Damien English has approved of the proposed approach to the Vision and Plan of Action for Tipperary town as outlined in recent weeks.
At this week’s meeting of the Cashel/Tipperary Municipal Council the elected members were told that the County CEO Joe McGrath recently met with Minister English and an advisor for the Taoiseach on the matter.
The Minister was briefed on the proposed process to deliver the three-year Plan of Action for Tipp town, and Mr McGrath told him that he had appointed Pat Slattery, Director of Services with the local authority, to lead the effort.
The Minister is said to have been satisfied with how the project is progressing and also expressed his interest in becoming further involved while adding that he would like to visit Tipperary town in the near future.
The council was also told that Nic de Jong has been appointed as the consultant that will assist the Forum in engaging with all stakeholders in the town.
Mr de Jong will work with the Forum to prepare the Plan of Action based on the projects identified through the consultation process.
Meanwhile, a sub-group of the Tipperary Town Centre Forum has also been formed, with the purpose of managing day-to-day decisions. That
