Gardai in Cahir say they are keeping an open mind in relation to what started a fire that destroyed the Castle Court Hotel in the town overnight.
The emergency services were notified of fire at the abandoned building on Church Street at around 11.30 last night.
A number of crews of the fire services responded to the fire.
Gardai in Cahir say a technical examination of the scene has now been carried out. They are appealing for witnesses to come forward. In particular they are seeking anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual in the area of Church St or the Square between 9pm and 12 midnight, to notify them. Door to door inquiries will also be carried out later.
For the moment, however, they say they are keeping an open mind on the matter.
