Caulfield’s SuperValu in Tipperary town is due to close down at the end of the month, resulting in up to 20 redundancies.
The decision has been taken to shut the operation on Bank Place due to what Musgrave Retail Partners describe as ‘challenging trading conditions’.
The store will close on October 31st.
The store currently employs 20 people between full- and part-time positions.
Musgrave’s acknowledges that will be a difficult time for staff, but the company maintains that it is committed to supporting them where possible in securing employment.
Some workers have been informed of the possibility of being redeployed elsewhere within the Caulfield Group, or in other Musgrave stores.
A redundancy programme has also been put in place and a consultation process is underway.
