Co. Tipperary is to share in a fund of €101 million which is being divided among counties that do not generate enough income through Local Property Tax.
The only county to require more money from the so-called equalisation fund is Co Donegal, exceeding Tipperary’s €12.9 million portion with its own of €13.9 million slice.
Tipperary is also one of 21 local authorities that would have to cut back on some services if it wanted to implement a 15% cut in the LPT bill.
For that percentage cut to be achieved, Co. Tipperary would have to cut back on services to the value of €1.84 million.
