The number of people seeking advice due to delays in receiving their disability allowance has increased recently according to local TD Michael Lowry.
He explained that these arrears owed where a person has been deemed eligible for the payment and either may have been on a sulpplementry welfare payment, a lower rate of social Welfare payment and have an entitlement to the balance.
He has also critised the newly elected Labour Party leader and Minister for Social Protection Joan Burton for her response to a parlimentary question on the matter.
