In the official Longines World Show Jumping Rankings published today (Friday), covering competitions during the month of May, Ireland has increased its presence with ten riders now in the top 100, with Co. Down’s Conor Swail highest at No.26, an improvement of two places.
Below Swail, Tipperary's Denis Lynch is in 33rd place, with fellow Tipp rider Shane Breen at 35th.
Wexford teenager Bertram Allen has made a huge leap of 13 places since the previous month, and is now ranked 50th in the world.
Cork-born Billy Twomey, who had slipped out of the World Top 100 at the beginning of the year due to injury, has fought back to 56th place, while Mayo's Cameron Hanley currently holds 57th in the rankings.
Olympic Bronze Medallist Cian O'Connor is in 81st place, with Cork's Shane Sweetnam in joint 82nd.
Kilkenny's Richie Moloney holds onto 92nd place, while Co. Down's Dermott Lennon has climbed nine places to enter the top 100 at equal 95th.
The Longines World Show Jumping rankings measure the performances of over 2,000 international riders each month, and the current leader is Britain's Scott Brash, with fellow-Briton Ben Maher in second place.
The rankings are published by the world governing body for the sport, the FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
