The Captain of the Delta Airlines flight was forced to divert to Shannon Airport at 1.05 p.m. yesterday due to the alleged incident, and Ms. Lauren was arrested by Shannon Gardai after touching down at 1.47 p.m.

Gardai also took 6 witness statements from the captain of the flight and 5 other Delta Flight crew.

Last night, Shannon Gardai lay three seperate charges against Ms. Lauren.

The Delta Airlines flight remained on the tarmac for over two hours at Shannon and continued its journey to JFK in New York at 4.15 p.m.

Ms Lauren operates a high-end jewellery business, Jenny Lauren Jewellery. A 'New York Times' profile in 2012 reported prices starting at $350 for a pair of earrings to $5,000 for a necklace. Last year, 'Forbes' magazine gave Ms Lauren's famous uncle, 74-year-old Ralph Lauren, a net worth of $7.7bn as a result of his worldwide clothing empire.
