Gardaí are treating as suspicious the death of a man whose body was found in a drain near Clara in Co Offaly.
The body, which is believed to be that of a 47-year-old local man, was discovered this morning.
State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy is due at the scene this afternoon but it is believed the victim, who was only recently released from prison, suffered a violent death.
A nearby caravan in which he was believed to live was also found burned out. The body was discovered in a drain at Kilbride at around 8.45am.
