MEP Phil Prendergast has accused Eirgrid of being ambiguous about the potential dangers of the pylons they plan to erect in parts of the country including Co Tipperary.
Speaking today which is the eve of the deadline for public submissions on the plan Deputy Prendergast said that personally she is concerned with the health risks that pylons may cause and these concerns have not been dispelled by Eirgrid.
Meanwhile local TD Seamus Healy has accused the government of acting in a cynical fashion by postponing the making of a decision on the project until after the Local and European elections.
