In its latest anti-litter league tables, IBAL, or Irish Business Against Litter, has said that it would like to see an improvement in Tipperary Town next time it adjudicates
The survey found Clonmel to be the fourth cleanest town in Ireland in 2013, moving up from tenth position the previous year.
Tipperary Town however was branded “moderatly littered”and was one of the only seven towns in the ranking of 42 not to be deemed clean.
In its report on Tipperary town, IBAL said the organisation would like to see an improvement next time. It noted that Main Street was a nicely presented and maintained enviroment and that the Galbally Road was the only “top ranking approach road.
Speaking this morning Conor Hogan spokesperson for IBAL suggested that the town and county councils need to get together to deal with the problem of approach roads which fell between the remits of both local authorities.
Nationally, the survey found all of Ireland’s cities to be clean in 2013 with 19 of the 42 towns and cities surveyed cleaner than European average. Kilkenny was once again announced as Ireland’s cleanest town.
